The Gender and Inclusion Summit 2023 (GS-23) convened a diverse range of prominent leaders, policymakers, activists, academics, students, professionals, and marginalized groups and individuals from 28 - 29th November 2023 in Abuja, Nigeria, to discuss and strategize on practicable and actionable ways to advance gender and Inclusion. The theme of the summit was Building Bridges: Advancing Gender and Inclusion Through the Intersection of Trade and Health.
The summit provided a platform to explore strategies for advancing gender and inclusion by harnessing the potential of trade to increase economic participation, reduce inequalities, and improve access to opportunities. The conversations also covered innovative approaches to bridging the gap in healthcare and increasing access to quality healthcare services.
The summit was preceded by a workshop titled "Measuring What Matters: A Learning Workshop on the Approaches for Evaluating Women and Girls Empowerment". It was held on November 27 in collaboration with JPAL and the World Bank Africa Gender Innovation Lab (GIL).
The inaugural summit in 2022, with the theme Connecting the Dots for a Gender Inclusive Society, laid the groundwork for this year's edition. Some of the notable features of the GS-23 included roundtable discussions, fireside chats, breakout sessions, plenary, keynote speeches, art and photography showcases, abstract presentations, exhibitions from renowned organizations and numerous networking opportunities.

The plenary sessions served as a grand stage for visionary leaders to deliver compelling keynote addresses, inspired discourse on key issues for the advancement of gender and inclusion as well as interactive roundtable discussions
The summit featured enriching and enlightening breakout sessions on topical issues. The featured speakers from public, private sectors and subject matter experts.
One of the most thrilling moments at #GS23 was the Art and Photography showcases. Among the 91 submissions received, 15 were selected to be featured at the summit after thorough reviews.
Ten Researchers delivered informative and engaging abstract presentations. The abstracts were centred on the summit tracks ranging from health, gender inclusiveness, technology and more. The top 3 were awarded scholarships for the Gender and Development Course scheduled to be held in April 2024.
Exhibitions at GS-23 elevated the entire experience, providing a unique platform for organizations to present their products and projects. These showcases not only facilitated networking but also ignited inspiration among participants. It was a remarkable opportunity for collaboration, innovation, and connection.
