Health

Our health program focuses on equipping stakeholders at different levels with advocacy skills to work collaboratively to improve accountability in health governance and best practices for health systems. Through a participatory approach, we facilitate dialogues to identify problems, question assumptions and support policy solutions. We utilize an evidence-driven approach to policy and context analysis to situate the gaps in the provision of quality MNCH/PHC services in the broader system-level ecosystem to improve health systems and service delivery. Our Health pillars include:

Health Systems Governance
» PHC/MNCH and Health Systems
» Accountability and Transparency Mechanisms
Global Health
» Health Inequities and Universal Health Coverage (UHC)
» Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs) and Mental Health
Public Health
» Advocacy and Governance

Generate Evidence for Women’s Health Advocacy in Nigeria

Generate Evidence for Women’s Health Advocacy in Nigeria
BMGF

The aim of this project is to explore evidence, incorporating stakeholder perspectives and gender-responsive approaches, to inform women's health narratives, and explore opportunities for joint advocacy and collective action for women’s health in Nigeria.

The scoping assessment utilizes a mixed methods approach to explore the context of women’s health and advocacy platforms, provide evidence-driven strategies for the delivery and support of a vibrant women’s health advocacy networks in Nigeria. This scoping assessment is currently implemented at national and sub-national levels (Lagos, Kaduna, and Kano states) in three-phases. These phases include (i) desk review and stakeholder mapping phase (ii) multi-stakeholder dialogue and co-creation workshop phase (iii) data synthesis/analysis phase.

Evidence from this scoping assessment will guide policymakers and program implementers to design interventions focused on women's health, particularly family planning MNCH. It will guide the design of a joint Women’s Health Advocacy Network in Nigeria including the potential for mobilizing diverse stakeholders – including new voices and champions, and streamline the efforts of different stakeholders (individuals and organizations) in advocating women’s health at national and subnational ecosystems.
